DON'T MAKE ME THINK BY STEVE KRUG
Alexander Mcqueen was one of the most celebrated designers of his generation.
I find Alexander Mcqueen's work very inspiring and will look at other fashion designer's work to incorprate unique design ideas into my work.
We were put into groups to discuss "The Museum of Savage Beauty" exhibition:

Discovery phase
- who are we designing for?
-what problem are we solving?
- what pain points do users have with their current solutions?
- what is preventing customers from using our product?
-what do we do to differentiate from other solutions on the market?
For homework I will do some initial research into fashion websites and the usability method/s I may use for analysis.
I am going to look at some that I am familiar with and some fashion websites that are new to me.
For example
Pretty little thing
Shein
Zara
Topshop
Websites that I am unfamiliar with - Free People.
The website Free People is the website I have decided to do a UX Audit on:
https://www.freepeople.com/uk/?ref=logo
Secondary Research into Free People brand.
25-34 years old is the average demographic
with 81% female 19% male
71% use Pinterest social network distribution.
Competitor analysis: Anthropologie highest similarity score to free people
Free People's traffic had decreased by 9% compared that of last month.
(Desktop)
9.8 milllion visits.
Average duration 00:05:03
Bounce rate 40%
Pages per visit 6.43
General interests of Free People: Fashion, lifestyle, shopping, news and education,
University and colleges, shops etc...
Other competitor websites: Urban Outfitters, Anthropology, Revolve, the reformation,
ASOS, Shopbop, Lulus, Nastygal, Forever 21, Nordstrom.
Free People FPMe social media platform built customer attention.
Overall the Free People brand is clear and consistent with its target customer demographic and brand aesthetics made in roads into the fast-fashion industry. The customer should define the product mix, not the merchant.
From the research and data I can see that their target demographic are females, that are inbetween college leaving age, early 30's. They look to pinterest to create mood board's.and search for inspiration.
After doing a competitor analysis of existing fashion websites I found that Zara and Club L
offer an accessibility app to increase ease of use through features such as: increase text size, change colour saturation and dyslexic font style.
I noticed that Free People don't currently offer an accessibility app however have a statement on their website stating it as a working progress, and are following the website usability guidelines.
