Risk Assessment Factors

Technical and Design Risks

  • Software or hardware disruptions may lead to data being lost or causing delays to the project timeline.
  • Not effective in solving the users needs Lack of proper testing and feedback can lead to negative effects on the overall design.

Resource and External Risks

  • Insufficient budget to fully and comprehensively bring the design to life to complete the project.
  • Unexpected changes that impact the user behaviour and project objectives.
  • Natural disasters, issues that are out of our control could lead to contractor or issues in supplier lead times.

Time Risks

Poor planning can lead to milestone deadlines being missed. This can contribute to poor quality of work and outcome at the end of the project.

Conclusion

Overall the project has many potential issues and risks that need to be aware of. However by following frameworks, timescales and technical systems, I should be able to minimise these risks and deliver a high end product/solution that users and business will be able to optimise on the ASOS website.

Ideation Mindmap

Final Ideation Idea

Merge fashion, beauty and fragrance through a walk-in wardrobe. that based on personal preferences from the algorithm and signature scent through text description to product choices.

Key User Aspects

AI Scent Genie

Collaborating with the AI Scent Genie to personalise a signature scent for the user through describing through text search bar., where the user can describe how they are feeling, what they want to smell like etc..

Walk-In Wardrobe

Walk-In wardrobe photo designed using chat GBT to create a futuristic vibe to the ASOS website and app. The icon of a wardrobe and perfume is used to open/fades into the walk-in wardrobe.

Animations/videos

In both the website and app I have added fade, scrolling features to the perfumes to add interest and appeal to the wardrobe idea, which I feel would appeal to the young age range it is targeted towards.

Evaluation

Solution to industry-set brief by ASOS: is to collaborate with AI Scent genie to provide a personal and customisable experience to users. It is based of the algorithm of customer data such as past purchases, current interests and style preferences, this crosses over from fashion and beauty in particular focusing on fragrance to create a unique signature scent based of mood/feeling and customers text description in the search bar, this will suggest the fragrances best suited for the user.

To evaluate the creative design process I feel I have spent a large portion of my time focusing on to be able to find a unique angle on the AI empowered personalisation feature to the ASOS website. I found from my research early on that emotive design and  beauty and wellness and fragrance can be used to boost/improve the mood and wellbeing of users, which I found interesting to research further.

As I came up with a lot of solutions during the ideation phase of the design process, I felt I needed to do user testing in order to get feedback from my target audience to get an insight into how they would view my prototype. This gave me valuable knowledge as it highlighted to be me some aesthetic design issues; that the background should be white instead of grey and to remove the background from my fragrance logo. This made a huge difference to the overall design and I am happy with the outcome of the walk-in wardrobe idea collaborated with the AI scent genie software to further personalise the experience for users.

To conclude, I feel my planning was well thought through, and managed my time effectively, if I had more time on the project I would've liked to have gained further feedback, however I am content with what I have designed as I feel it hits the brief well with a a slight twist.

I think that the design concept in intuitive, emotionally appealing and very much personalised to the ASOS user in a very collective way, therefore I feel I have met the objectives of the brief and interpreted it in an innovative way.
